Copper Mould Tube

The "Heart" of the Continuous Casting Machine

Product Overview

In continuous casting, molten steel is solidified and shaped inside a crystallizer rather than a traditional ingot mould. The copper mould tube forms this crystallizer and is forcibly water-cooled, acting as the critical heat-extraction component that shapes and initially solidifies the steel as it is cast. Available in square, rectangular, round and beam-blank designs to match a wide range of continuous casting machines.

⚙️ Materials & Coating

Manufactured in TP2 copper, CuAg0.1 silver-bearing copper, and Cu-Cr-Zr alloy, each selected for the heat resistance, conductivity and anti-fatigue properties demanded by continuous casting. Tubes are supplied with chrome (Cr) or Nickel-Cobalt + Chrome (NiCo+Cr) coatings for enhanced surface durability.
